The mission
The main mission of COOP Jednota Slovensko is to provide social and
economic prosperity of the cooperative and its members, i.e. to
create and provide Instruments and solutions to keep market share
to COOP Jednota Offices as to its members.COOP Jednota Slovensko also protects rights and interests of the cooperative members, represents them and claims their interestests towards officials and institutions in the Slovak Republic as well as abroad.
The vision
COOP Jednota Slovensko wants to keep the position of the COOP Jednota group as the largest retail network on the food market by meeting its mission and thus to act as the key retailer of groceries in Slovakia.Strategic goals

Market position
The total turnover of the COOP Jednota group was 1 225,4 million Euro in 2010 and in comparison to the year 2009, the growth was 2,4%.Logistics centers and cooperative warehouses of COOP Jednota made production in the value of 463,6 million Euro what means growth about 2,4% comparing to the past year.
Total sales of retail and logisitcs centers were 1 550,2 million Euro in 2010 and the year-to-year growth 4,6%.
Despite the competition the COOP Jednota group validated its postion of a leader on the Slovak market food with the market share of 20,7% again thanks to mentioned results in 2010.
RETAIL NETWORK
The COOP Jednota Group is not only the largest groceries seller but also retailer with the largest number of stores.In 2010 we opened 35 new shops, mainly in form of SUPERMARKET and GROCERIES MIX within the system of consumer cooperatives. Our priority is orientation in „country supermarket“ store type, where customers can do quick and complex shopping with the opportunity of using additional services (e.g. UNIKASA, csh-back, etc.). We laid our stress on reconstruction of exisiting shops with the aim to improve quality of shopping and also make stores more effective. There are 2 300 COOP Jednota group units of concern implemented in 3 retail formats.
